Anne Eckersley bred Scotch to her bitch Chadwick Overnight Sensation (‘JoJo’) who is the daughter of one of my favorite cavaliers of all time Chadwick Sweet Sensation or ‘Hershey” as she was known.

I knew I was in trouble when Anne sent me the photo of the one tri color in the litter – a heavily marked boy.  When I saw him in person there was no question that I wanted him to join me in New York.  He markings are not his fortunate but I love his head, body and attitude.  He is a smaller version of his father.   I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a tri color Scotch.

He took to showing like a duck to water.  He loves the ring in fact sometimes he can love it a little too much.  Never a shrinking violet Cosmo will always let you know exactly how he feels.  He is smart like his father and has been very easy to train.  He is consistently in the ribbons and won several Best Of Breed Puppy Shows in the few AKC shows he was entered as a puppy.

Cosmo delighted us by taking his first CKCSC major in June, 2015.   Australian Judge Mathew Morse (Matmor) had this to say about him:  “I generally don’t start a critique with a criticism but in this case, this tricolour was too heavily marked. But, everything else about him I loved! Class and panache sum him up. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. He is undoubtedly male but still graceful, elegant, sound and stylish on the move. His head is classic, nothing exaggerated but all parts fit harmoniously together to provide a wonderful expression. Enough width across the top of skull to ensure a correct ear set, the eyes were simply glorious, the muzzle was the correct length, slightly tapered, plush but still with a neat finish to the lips. The outline is exquisite, compact yet with a reachy neck that flowed into well laid shoulders. Good ribbing, short through the loin. Good angulation behind and a well set and carried tail. Sailed around the ring with a certain lightness to his stride, nothing laboured or restricted. Reserve Winners Dog, Best American Bred Dog, Best Tricolor in Show”

Cosmo finished his AKC Championship on October 18, 2015.   He was Winners Dog for a 4 pt major at the Albany Kennel Club under Judge Jason Hoke and then finished his Championship with a 5 pt major with Breeder/Judge Lamont Yoder at the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Southern New England.     Thank you to these judges for recognizing Cosmo’s qualities beneath his blanket!
